Firstly, a couple of new breweries and new lines that are available:

Firstly, the mighty and highly regarded 8 Wired brewery from Marlborough. this brewery is a side project for Renaissance head brewer, Søren Eriksen, apparently he need something else to do apart from brewing world class beers at one highly regarded brewery he has to do it another! :)

And the more recent addition to our range, Tuatara Brewery. Located in Waikanae (North Island), New Zealand it was judged to be to be Champion Brewery by BrewNZ 2008.

Along with this we have taken on a new line from Kiuchi Brewery, the Nipponia is an amazing Golden ale and we are loving it at the moment. A truly unique beer!

Our weekend special this week is a little different. we are dropped the prices on all the Emerson's beers we have in stock. We want to get rid of all the old stock to get in some fresh stuff for the upcoming Xmas season. So you can get the amazing Emerson's Pilsner (a personal favourite at the BierShop and a must for any Pilsner lover) and the Emerson's IPA 1812 both for $6.50 till stocks run out.

The 2010 Vintage Ale from Coopers has been released. This annual release from Coopers is styled as a English strong Ale and develops well over time. As the brewers say

The beer can certainly be enjoyed now, but with careful cellaring will mature gracefully with age and develop rounded, rich toffee characters.

”

I love this beer and really enjoy seeing how it changes over time. We still have stocks of the 2008 Vintage Ale and that beer is now amazing. Strong toffee and rich berry flavours dominate the palate. A beer that will reward it's drinker if cellared.

The Goodieson Pilsner has a good colour with a slight red tinge. The palate shows strong hop notes with lots of grassy and hay flavours. The palate has a good length and the finish is not overly bitter. A good example of a Pilsner that is very drinkable. A beautiful Pilsner from one of SA's newest craft breweries.

Moo Brew Vintage Stout giveaway
In anticipation of the Queen's Birthday Long Weekend in June, we are giving away five bottles of our more Regal beers (and easily the most expensive beer we have offered) the Moo Brew Vintage Stout. This beer is highly sought after and retails at $30 and is worth every cent.

This amazing beer is known as a Russian Imperial Stout. The beer of the Tzars was brewed for Her Royal Highness Catherine II of Russia after the batch she took back from backpacking through England in the 18th century went stale. Thrale’s Brewery of London set about the task of creating something to compliment her Eastern tastes, they made the stout a little hoppier and stronger and the Russian Imperial style was born.

For the next 5 weeks, The Adelaide Bier Shop will be giving away one bottle each week to the first person to order the 5 beers they feature on:

The latest release from Adelaide's own Brewboys, the GT Lager is now available. Brewed to commemorate the iconic Holden GT, it even has 35.1 Bitterness units to honour the 351 motor.

A couple of our reviews for the new Dieu Du Ciel range:
Aphrodisiaque
One look at the bottle leaves one thinking this is going to be some soft sweet beer, but they would be wrong! This dark beauty pours a deep brown colour with an off white fluffy head. The nose is all coffee (and good coffee at that!) with slight 'meaty' notes. The palate is full flavoured to say the least. One sip has flavours of coffee, chocolate, treacle, meat with a slight (and we say slight) vanilla tone. This beer is good. We recommend having it at the end of the night during winter and savour it! And no it doesn't work!

Rosée d' Hibiscus
A very interesting beer indeed. Pours a light ruby red colour. The nose is amazing with berry tones and slight hibiscus notes. The palate is full flavoured without being too strong. It's sweet throughtout which fades to a slight bitterness at the end. Berry notes across the palate with stronger hibiscus flavours than on the nose. A unique beer and one to shock people who don't like the taste of normal beer.
